Respecting the Original Villa
Retaining the heritage character of the existing villa was central to the success of the project. Original proportions, high stud ceilings and period detailing were carefully preserved, allowing the home's historic charm to remain a defining feature while creating opportunities for contemporary family living.
Close collaboration between the architect, client and construction team ensured every new element complemented the existing home, resulting in a renovation that feels cohesive rather than contrasting.
Contemporary Design & Craftsmanship
The new extension introduces clean architectural forms that sit comfortably alongside the traditional villa. Vertical Lunawood timber cladding is paired with classic bevel-back weatherboards and carefully considered timber detailing, creating a refined transition between old and new.
Inside, generous glazing and open-plan living spaces strengthen the connection between the home and its outdoor entertaining areas, while the retained high stud ceilings continue to provide the light-filled sense of space that defines traditional villas.
